Wedding DIY - sugar scrub

Here's a cute idea for all you DIY brides out there. I came across this posting from Smart-Bottom Enterprises for a homemade sugar scrub. What a great idea for wedding favours, as part of your bridesmaids' presents or even for the welcome packages for your out-of-town guests. Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to make your own sugar scrub:

Ingredients:

- Turbinado sugar (Sugar in the Raw)

- Brown sugar

- Olive oil

- Sweet orange and peppermint essential oil

- Aloe vera gel

- Mason jars

Directions:

Mix together a 50/50 ration of sugar to olive oil. Add in essential oil drops until desired scent is reached. Add aloe vera gel to achieve desirable texture.
It doesn't get much easier than that! Here are some pictures of the finished project:

Trends we love: coloured shoes for the bride

In case you haven't guessed, I'm a little obsessed with shoes. I think one of the best ways to incorporate some "fun" into your wedding attire is to wear coloured shoes. For my wedding, my shoes were my "something blue." Some brides like to match their shoes to their main wedding colour, while other brides choose to wear their favourite colour of shoes regardless of wedding colours or theme. Whatever your take is on the trend, here are some cool photos from around the blogosphere:

Princess bride

Alfred Angelo recently collaborated with Disney to create a wedding dress line fit for a princess. The new line features dresses inspired by many of the Disney princesses featured in Disney's movies. Personally, I like the Cinderella one the best, but I could be biased with a name like Glass Slipper Designs. Which one is your favourite? Check them out and leave a comment below:
