Blingin' birthday card

A break from wedding posts today! My neighbour asked me if I could make a birthday card for his wife, and I was more than happy to do so! My husband and I attended their wedding last September, so I knew that Laura had a thing for damask and red, black and white. So, I put together this birthday card with lots of bling, since her husband said she loved bling - in his words, "The more bling. the better." Here is what I created for her birthday card:

It's hard to tell in the photo, but the Happy Birthday is heat embossed to give the stamped sentiment a raised, glossy look. I also outlined the white background with red ink around the edges, just to give it a bit more dimension.

Bride and Co.

I stumbled across a cute idea while browsing Etsy the other day. Pinkvelvetpress is a seller on Etsy who sells customized bridesmaid attire, but I came across this t-shirt that I think would be adorable to for the bridal party to wear out on the stagette:

Glass Slipper Designs is also planning to launch an Etsy store soon once the wedding season slows down a bit, and we'll be offering bridal shower invitations, stagette invitations and greeting cards, so be sure to stay tuned to the blog for more information!

Country Cute

Country singing sensation Miranda Lambert and The Voice's Blake Shelton got married this past weekend. And, true to their country roots, the wedding was all things country, down to the bride and bridesmaid's cowboy boots. Miranda wore her mother's wedding dress for the ceremony and changed into a short Priscilla of Boston dress afterwards. I can only imagine how gorgeous the reception was!

Monogram note cards

When I am sending samples to clients, I often slip a little note into the envelope for them. So I thought it would be a good idea to make some monogram note cards instead, rather than just writing on a boring old piece of paper. I incorporated the Glass Slipper Designs colours - turquoise, white and black - along with my first initial and a little bling. Here is what I came up with:

4" X 5" monogram note card

A close up of the monogram. I love the tiny rhinestone on the end of the E!

I think for future cards, I will make the turquoise ink less intense, but other than that, I love these!

Ranch-style wedding inspiration board

I posted a sneak peek for Laura and Chad's invitations on Tuesday. They're having a ranch wedding at the end of August, and I thought this inspiration board from Snippet and Ink matched their colours and theme perfectly. I came across this after I already came up with their invitations design, but even the tree in this collage is like the tree on their invitations:

Sneak peek: Laura and Chad

For the past few months, I have been working EXTREMELY hard on Laura and Chad's invitations for their ranch-style wedding in August. There are a lot of details on these invitations, and I think they're one of my favourite invitations yet! Here's a teaser of the invitations...I am dropping them off to Laura and Chad tonight and will post pictures of the actual invite and response card in a few weeks once their guests have received their invitations.

Royal wedding photos - Part 2!

Now that a few days have passed since the royal wedding, a few more photos of the ceremony and reception have now been released. Kate changed into another breathtaking dress by Alexander McQueen designer Sara Burton for the reception, while sister Pippa sported a stunning emerald green gown for the reception. Here are a few more photos for you to enjoy! Hopefully they will release some "fun" official wedding photos shortly, and I'll be sure to post them here for you.
