Something blue

Anyone who knows me knows that I love shoes. So when it came time to choose my "something blue" for the wedding, it only made sense that it was blue satin pumps.

Adding a fun accessory in as your something blue is a great idea and a nice personal touch, I think. For me personally, I think it's much more fun the the boring old blue garter or blue toenail polish that no one really sees. Here's some inspiration for your "something blue."

Decisions, decisions: 2011 wedding colour trends

For me, one of the hardest decisions I had to make for my wedding was what colour scheme to go with. The possibilities are endless! Unless you have a particular colour in mind, you might want to consider exploring what the latest colour trends are. There are a ton of resources out there to help you.
Some of the biggest trends we're seeing for the upcoming year include bright, BOLD colours (which I just love, by the way!) The top bright colours for the coming year include: apple green, hot pink, coral, red, violet purple, emerald green and yellow, to name a few. Here is an example of some of the top bold colours:

For those of you with autumn or winter weddings, think vintage. The trend for fall and winter weddings in 2011 is vintage-inspired colours, which will make your event a classy affair. These colours include: chocolate brown, brick red, charcoal grey, olive green, tangerine, deep blue and khaki.

Here is an example of some of the vintage colour inspirations for 2011:

And just in case you're curious, the colour scheme I went with was coral, light gold and off white, which looked STUNNING with our venue. Pictures of our wedding stationery are posted on the Glass Slipper Designs Calgary website and on our Facebook page, so be sure to check out our examples.
